About Me
Graduating from the University of Western Australia in 2013, Perth lawyer Kori O’Meehan achieved a Bachelor of Laws (with distinction) and a Bachelor of Science, majoring in psychology.
In early 2014, she joined a mid-tier Perth law firm in their commercial litigation team. By July 2014 she was admitted as a Lawyer to the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia.
As a Commercial Litigation Lawyer, Kori gained valuable experience in a range of matters, working on everything from General Procedure Claims in the Magistrates Court to complex proceedings in the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
In 2017, Kori decided to change course, follow her interests and specialise in family law. “I understand separation and divorce can be a highly emotional experience for people” she said “I consider it a privilege to assist people through what is likely to be the most difficult period of their lives”.
A consummate professional and experienced litigator, Kori’s approach is conciliatory. To avoid the time, stress and expense associated with legal proceedings, she encourages clients (whenever possible) to reach an agreement with their former spouse or partner about parenting arrangements and financial matters. Where agreement cannot be reached, she works tirelessly to achieve the best outcomes for her clients.
A skilled yet empathetic communicator, Kori prides herself on straight-talking, avoiding the use of legal jargon and complex terminology.
